Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) was established in 1998 as a non-governmental Organization to serve as a collective voice of PLHIV in the Country. The Organization is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria in September 2004.
NEPWHAN is now Seventeen (17) Years Old as a vibrant patient community network in Nigeria. The network formed since 1998 has established structures at the zonal and all States including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and as well saddled with the responsibility of coordinating, supervising and monitoring activities and programs of over 1, 030 support groups membership across the Federation making it one of the biggest Patient network in Africa. Our GOALNEPWHAN has formed constituent bodies; Association of Youth Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (APYIN), Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (ASWHAN), Association of Religious Leaders Living with and Personally Affected by HIV/AIDS (NINERELA+) to advocate and provide HIV programming intervention for the specific needs of their targets and members.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description
- The State Focal Point will be based in NEPWHAN State office, and work under the direct supervision of the project Program Coordinator/National Focal Point and the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, with support from NEPWHAN State Coordinator. S/he will also report to NEPWHAN National Coordinator and the national office Monitoring and Evaluation team.
- The main role of the State Focal Point will be to coordinate the implementation of the Community-Led Monitoring of COVID-19 and HIV project at State level. S/he will supervise the Data Collectors (Community Volunteers) in the designated State.
- S/he will ensure the functionality of the Community Consultative Group (CCG)/Steering Committee, and keep a good working relationship with the different partners involved in the implementation of the Community-Led Monitoring initiative at State level.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator/National Focal Point, the State Focal Point will be responsible of the following tasks:
- Train Data Collectors (Community Volunteers) at the State level on collection tools and techniques.
- Carry out formative supervision of Data Collectors at the State level.
- Ensure data quality control at the State and site levels.
- Upload validated data into the database at the State and national levels.
- File and archive collected forms from the State.
- Ensure the functionality of the Community Consultative Group (CCG)/Steering Committee at the State level.
- Provide secretarial services to the Community Consultative Group (CCG)/Steering Committee at the State level.
- Follow up on the recommendations and actions defined by the Community Consultative Group/Steering Committee to implement the advocacy agenda.
- Ensure good visibility of project activities in the State.
- Monthly programmatic report of the Community-Led Monitoring activities
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Social Sciences, Public Health, Human Rights, International Development, or other related disciplines.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience developing Monitoring and Evaluation system framework for non-profit sector or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with the community, preferably in CSO network, CBO or Support Group setting.
- Above-average computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in web-based and electronic-based data / M&E management tools and practices.
- Accounting skill would be an added advantage.
- Must demonstrate good oral & written English Language communication.
- Suitable candidate living with HIV will have added advantage.
- Experience in participatory research methods.
- Proven experience in facilitating advocacy frameworks.
- Ability to work with CSOs, including Key Populations, Women and Girls.
- Ability to analyze secondary data in order to carry out advocacy.
- Capacity for training, mentoring and supervision.
