According to Stadium’s Shams Charania, the deal is worth $228.2 million over five years, the largest deal in NBA history. The deal includes an opt-out clause in 2025. Antetokounmpo is now guaranteed $256 million over the next six seasons with Milwaukee.
The deadline to sign the supermax deal was Dec. 21.
“This is my home, this is my city,” Antetokounmpo said in the tweet. “I’m blessed to be able to be a part of the Milwaukee Bucks for the next five years. Let’s make these years count.”
“This is a great day in Bucks history,” team president Peter Feigin said during a Milwaukee Press club webinar.
Antetokounmpo, selected 15th overall pick by Milwaukee in 2013, is a four-time All-Star forward and two-time MVP. In 2019-20, Antetokounmpo logged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists per contest. He led the Bucks to the Eastern Conference finals during the 2018-19 season.
“The show goes on, let’s get it,” Antetokounmpo said.
