Milwaukee placed Jedd Gyorko on the bereavement list and optioned right-hander Trey Supak to the alternate training site. To take their places on the roster, the Brewers recalled outfielder Tyrone Taylor and selected the contract of Phil Bickford.
Taylor, the 23rd-ranked prospect in Milwaukee’s system by MLB.com, made his big-league debut last season and appeared in 15 games for the Brewers. In 12 plate appearances, Taylor collected four hits (two doubles), one walk and one strikeout.
Milwaukee acquired Bickford in a 2016 deadline trade with San Francisco. The 25-year-old, who has yet to make his MLB debut, registered a 3-0 record, 2.48 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 20 games (32 2/3 IP) for High-A Carolina last season.
Supak was called up to the Brewers on Monday but did not appear in Milwaukee’s 6-5 win.
