Job Title: Technical Progress Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- The Technical Program Manager will work with key stakeholders (Engineering leads & QA) to ensure timely completion of technical projects by meeting product milestones.
- You will be responsible for assessing risks, anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, balancing the business needs versus technical constraints and providing recommendations that will maximize business benefit.
- You should be passionate about contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal-setting, disciplined attention to performance metrics, continuous process improvement, and will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of multiple teams working together to deliver the goals of the company.
- You should have a technical background, be detail driven and have excellent communication and problem solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the product roadmap and how it aligns with the business goals
- Work across product teams to coordinate dependencies, keep track of the critical path, expose risk to the overall roadmap and to drive decisions around team priorities that come in conflict with the business priorities
- Deliver extensive project plans by working with teams to break down their goals into actionable plans with key activities, timelines, and responsibilities.
- Align on key deliverables, milestones and success criterias, resource allocation, and all relevant activities that would ensure successful on-time delivery by the key stakeholders.
- Partner with engineering, product,and business leadership to build highly collaborative teams and to enhance communication across teams and stakeholders
- Communicate with stakeholders throughout the project to ensure they are aware of project status and any potential issues that may impact a successful outcome
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and Identify risks that could derail the timely achievement of the goals set; escalate these risks to project stakeholders and ensure that they implement mitigative actions.
- Evaluate project results to determine whether goals were achieved and if changes are necessary to improve future performance for future project
- Project management – prioritization , planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience;
- 3+ years of deep hands on technical software development experience;
- Experience managing and coordinating projects: monitoring, anticipating, and troubleshooting issues and ensuring project effectiveness.
Skills & Requirements:
- Strong business acumen and technical vision
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A deep understanding of software engineering and the needed requirements to ship features on time
- Great relationship management skills which include the ability to discover the true requirements underlying product feature requests and work with engineering to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
- Ability to articulately present and debate recommendations with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
