Job Description

  • To support that challenge, we’re currently looking for a Technical Veg Sales Representative to join our Sales Veg Nigerian team.
  • This will be a permanent contract; the positions will be based in the Kano State

Purpose

  • Manage relationship with key stakeholders: Agriprojects, Processors,  …
  • Accelerate product introduction, promotion and demand creation for both new and existing VEG Seeds varieties in order to boost the sales.
  • Organize demo trials for customers & promote the varieties during the customer visits
  • Provide feedback from Demo trials to the Sales Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Sales teams by providing them with sufficient technical information on the product behavior and performance to help them in the product positioning and sales.
  • Be the technical reference for the assigned VEG Area.
  • Support the transition/handover between technical, marketing and trialing
  • Execute campaign plans in accordance with agreed campaign priorities
  • Ensure delivery of Syngenta brand revenue targets
  • Achieve participation in the crop units i.e. market data and trials planning
  • Provide accurate longterm forecasts for the varieties sold in the assigned area
  • Develops and implements annual sales plans including detailed actions with customers and channels
  • Expands the grower database in his assigned sales area
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of the changing market trends and grower needs
  • Places pre-commercial trials with key growers following Product Development Specialist plan and report back trial results and variety performance
  • Launches new varieties with key growers and leverages results via demand generating activities with growers and channel partners
  • Organizes demand generation activities aligned with and following on the plan of the Marketing Operation Lead
  • Initiates and maintains contact with present customers (growers and dealers) and manages different accounts
  • Actively drives sales and collects orders, secures follow-up on orders and secures payments
  • Provision of training to lead farmers

Accountabilities:

  • Sales Achievement/Revenue (Campaign Product Revenue)
  • New Product Introductions (hybrids)
  • Growth of Syngenta Brand both on Distributor and Young Plant Raisers level
  • Actual assortment promotion:
    •   Set up field demo’s/trials aligned with sales and marketing strategy
    •   Technical positioning is clear at distributor level through trainings, promotional material and face  to face meetings

Business Impact:

  • Achievement of Sales target for assigned area
  • Farmer knowledge and use of Syngenta Vegetable seeds varieties

Geographic Scope:

  • North of Nigeria

Experience Required for the Job

  • 3 to 5 years at least in the same position
  • Minimum education and critical knowledge required for the job
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Crop related fields
