Main Purpose of Job

  • To perform general office administration duties and to assist with the efficient running of the visa operation.

Visa Writers:

  • To issue visas as required by the visa department, ensuring that they are accurately completed and issued in line with the guidance and best practice maintaining accurate records where necessary.
  • To ensure that integrity of the Visa writer function is as per best practice.
  • Helping the visa department minimise abuse in the visa process.
  • Updating databases when necessary.
  • Helping in all areas of the visa department by taking on a variety of clerical roles as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Print vignettes according to manifests sent from the UK DMC and any cases assessed in Abuja. Assure security and integrity of visa writing processes according to UKVI policy and guidance. Complete daily Abuja record to show cases printed and deal with errors/undertake liaison with UK DMC to solve printing problems. Send completed and accurate return manifests to UK DMC to allow completion of casework;
  • Process BRP letters and Refusal Notices for cases sent by the UK DMC, and from assessment in Abuja. Send completed and accurate return manifests to UK DMC to allow completion of casework;
  • Manage the content, security and integrity of the passport bank to assure an organised and efficient process according to guidance;
  • Manage the dispatch process via the TLS portal. Report complaints to the VAC and escalate problems to a Team Leader;
  • Update UK DMC on all passports received for withdrawals, overturned and KMP service cases;
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties at special request to support British High Commission and UKVI business delivery

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • To be IT literate in terms of using computers for email on a daily basis.
  • To be able to communicate fluently in both written and verbal English

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with software packages (notably MS Word, Excel and straightforward databases)
  • Previous experience of working within a visa section.

Remuneration
Starting monthly salary: N315, 328
