Job Title: Transport Planner

Job Summary

  • As a Transport Planner, you will report to the Logistics Site Operations Leader and will be responsible for planning, coordination, and execution of transportation associated with product distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, and customer issues.
  • Participate in vendor management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation.
  • Actively manage vendor performance reporting adequately
  • Communicate duly on truck visibility reporting with stakeholders
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit and delivery.
  • Ensure achievement of cost reduction, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness of transportation metrics.
  • Negotiate transportation rates and services with the aid of the indirect purchasing team.
  • Plan and implement improvements to internal and external logistics systems or processes to drive out unnecessary costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as sales, purchasing, and distribution.
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes, or carriers.
  • Analyze logistics to determine the most cost-effective means of transporting products.
  • Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers using appropriate software to improve efficiency, speed, and quality of transportation services.
  • Raising purchase orders and generating monthly transportation reports.
  • Follows the standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Develops and improves transport planning processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • BSc / HND with a minimum of Lower Credit
  • Must have at least 2 years of core experience in Logistics and planning
  • Not more than 35 years
  • Supply chain experience is an added advantage
  • Communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Analytical Skills
  • Preferable female for gender balance.

Salary
N115,000 net plus HMO, Pension, 13month and Leave Allowance.
