Trevor Cahill gets nod to start Opening Day for Angels
Skip has spoken!
Los Angeles Angels first-year manager Brad Ausmus announced he will turn to first-year Halo Trevor Cahill to start Opening Day.
Cahill, who joined the Angels after spending last season with the Oakland Athletics, compiled a 7-4 record with a 3.76 ERA in 21 games (20 starts). It should be familiar territory for the righty on March 28, as the Angels open the season on the road at the Oakland Coliseum.
In other news, Trevor Cahill is the #Angels opening day starter. He’s been the healthiest all spring. Followed by Harvey, Peña, Skaggs, Barría. Harvey starts home opener.

This is Cahill’s second-career Opening Day start (2011) as he enters his 11th season in the Bigs.
