Twins’ Berrios shows off nasty curveball at All-Star Game
Retaining Jones was always going to be a challenge for first-year president Gersson Rosas, whose Wolves are right up against the cap. The Memphis Grizzlies sped the process up a bit, signing the former Apple Valley star to an offer sheet to the tune of $28 million over three years. That deal was ultimately a bit too rich for the Wolves, who’ve spent the past month clearing what cap space they can and betting on low-risk acquisitions while chasing a star to pair with Karl-Anthony Towns. It’s a nice deal for Jones financially, even if star prospect Ja Morant is obviously the Grizzlies’ future at the position.
