Twins non-tender Eddie Rosario, agree to deals with five players

The Minnesota Twins have non-tendered outfielder Eddie Rosario, making him a free agent.

Rosario played six seasons with the Twins, hitting 119 home runs and batting .277 in that span. The Twins’ starting left fielder since he was a rookie in 2015, Rosario set career highs in 2019 with 32 home runs, 91 runs and 109 RBI.

Additionally, Minnesota non-tendered right-handed pitcher Matt Wisler. In his one season with the Twins, Wisler pitched in 25 1/3 innings in 2020, allowing three runs on 15 hits with 14 walks and 35 strikeouts.

The Twins tendered a contract to left-handed pitcher Taylor Rogers and agreed to 2021 contracts with five players, those being right-handed pitchers José Berríos ($6.1 million) and Tyler Duffey ($2.2 million), left-handed pitcher Caleb Thielbar ($650,000), catcher Mitch Garver ($1.875 million) and outfielder Byron Buxton ($5.125 million).

Minnesota now has 35 players on its major-league roster: 18 pitchers, four catchers, six infielders and seven outfielders.
