The move is retroactive to July 31. Hill joins fellow Minnesota starting pitchers Jake Odorizzi and Homer Bailey on the 10-day injured list.

Hill, who signed a one-year deal with Minnesota in free agency, underwent surgery on his left shoulder in the offseason. Originally expected to miss the first few months of the season, the 40-year-old opened the 2020 campaign with the Twins due to the delayed start.

Hill has appeared in one game this season, making his Twins debut July 29 against St. Louis. Over five innings of work, Hill allowed just two hits, one walk and no runs while fanning two hitters. Forty-one of his 68 pitches were thrown for strikes.
