The depth of the Minnesota Twins pitching staff will be put to the test, whether it’s ready or not.

Minnesota placed Jake Odorizzi and Zack Littell on the 10-day injured list and transferred Homer Bailey to the 45-day injured list on Saturday.
To replace them on the roster, the Twins recalled right-hander Sean Poppen and selected the contract of left-hander Danny Coulombe.
Odorizzi was hit by a line drive off the bat of Alex Gordon in the fourth inning of Friday’s 7-2 loss to Kansas City. In three starts (10 innings), Odorizzi has allowed nine earned runs on 14 hits.
Littell also left Friday’s ballgame with elbow soreness. In 6 1/3 innings, Littell has allowed seven runs on 12 hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Poppen, who appeared in four games for the Twins last year, has yielded one run over three innings in 2020. Coulombe hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since 2018.
Odorizzi and Littell join five other Twins players on the injured list – Bailey, Josh Donaldson, Cody Stashak, Mitch Garver and Byron Buxton.
