Urias making good first impression with Brewers
Luis Urias, Brewers infielder (⬆️ UP)
You only get one chance at a first impression. So far, so good for Urias. Through his first seven games in a Milwaukee uniform, the 23-year-old has gone 9-for-24 (.375 average) and ranks second on the team with an .858 OPS. To the delight of Brewers fans, Urias racked up back-to-back three-hit efforts Saturday and Sunday against the Chicago Cubs. And his versatility has been on display, starting two games apiece at second base, third base and shortstop.
More Brewers coverage
Eric Sogard, Brewers infielder (⬆️ UP)
#NerdPower ended Minnesota starter Kenta Maeda’s no-hit bid with a bloop single in the ninth inning of the Brewers’ 4-3 loss on Tuesday night. It sparked Milwaukee’s rally to tie the game in the ninth, but the Brewers ultimately came up short in a 4-3 extra-inning loss.
Brook Lopez, Bucks center (⬇️ DOWN)
Lopez has struggled from 3-point range this season, notching a 31.4% clip compared to a 36.5% mark last season. His shooting touch wasn’t there in the opening game of the playoffs, ether. During Milwaukee’s shocking loss to the Orlando Magic in Game 1, Lopez tallied just five points, four rebounds and one block in 30 minutes on the floor. He shot 2 of 9 from the field and missed all four attempts from deep.
Khris Middleton, Bucks forward (⬇️ DOWN)
Middleton, who always seems to find that extra gear in the postseason, couldn’t locate it Tuesday against Orlando. When the Bucks needed a spark, Middleton was mostly ineffective, finishing the game with 14 points on 4-of-12 shooting.
Christian Yelich, Brewers outfielder (⬆️ UP)
In his last nine games, Yelich has logged a .300/.432/.633 slash line with two homers, two doubles, one triple and six RBI. That’s much better. Plus, he tortured Cubs fans by smacking a go-ahead three-run homer that helped the Brewers to a 4-3 win on Friday night.
