USA Luge selects World Cup roster for next season
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) — USA Luge is keeping its World Cup roster largely unchanged for next season.
Olympic silver medalist Chris Mazdzer, Tucker West and Jonny Gustafson will race in men’s singles, Mazdzer and Jayson Terdiman will pair up again in doubles, and reigning world bronze medalist Emily Sweeney will be joined by Summer Britcher, Brittney Arndt and Ashley Farquharson on the women’s roster.
USA Luge announced the team makeups on Wednesday. Of those eight sliders, only Farquharson — who was fourth at this year’s junior world championships — did not compete at the World Cup level last season.
The 2019-20 World Cup season starts in Innsbruck on Nov. 23. The lone U.S. stop this season is in Lake Placid on Nov. 29 and 30.
