Vikings’ Kendricks named first-team All-Pro

Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks on Friday was named a first-team Associated Press All-Pro. It’s the first time Kendricks has been named an All-Pro.

Kendricks was one of three linebackers on the first team, joined by Seattle’s Ricky Wagner and New Orleans’ Demario Davis.

Playing in 15 games this season — he sat out the season finale — Kendricks had 110 tackles, 12 passes defensed and two forced fumbles. He was injured in Minnesota’s Week 16 loss to Green Bay, rested in Week 17 and is expected to play Sunday when the Vikings and Saints meet in a wild-card playoff game.

More Vikings coverage

Interestingly, Kendricks was not named to the Pro Bowl, which was announced last week.

No other Vikings player was named a first- or second-team All-Pro, although several received votes.
