Minnesota placed Rudolph on injured reserve Tuesday. To take his place, the Vikings signed guard Kyle Hinton to the active roster.
In 12 games this season, Rudolph caught 28 passes for 334 yards and one touchdown, his lowest career total. Rudolph will finish the season as the Vikings’ fifth-leading receiver behind Justin Jefferson (1,267 yards), Adam Thielen (868 yards), Dalvin Cook (335 yards) and Irv Smith Jr. (335 yards).
Rudolph has three seasons remaining on the four-year extension he signed in 2019. He will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2023 campaign.
Hinton was a seventh-round pick (No. 253 overall) by the Vikings, the team’s final selection of the 2020 draft. He played college football at Washburn, a Division II school in Topeka, Kan.
