William & Mary’s Pierce to play at UNC as graduate transfer
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — William & Mary’s Justin Pierce will play his final season at North Carolina as a graduate transfer.
Pierce announced his decision on social media Thursday. The 6-foot-6 wing has averaged 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds while shooting 48% from the floor and nearly 37% from 3-point range over the past two seasons.
Pierce is the second graduate transfer to pick UNC in the past week, joining Christian Keeling after the 6-4 guard averaged 17.9 points over three seasons at Charleston Southern.
The Tar Heels are losing their top five scorers, while reserve point guard Seventh Woods has decided to transfer. But they’ve restocked their perimeter with the additions of Pierce and Keeling, along with the recent signings of top-five national recruit Cole Anthony and four-star prospect Anthony Harris.
