- We are currently looking to hire a candidate to join our team as WoW Partner in Onne, Nigeria.

- Our Way of Working is not about implementing tools, it is about driving a mindset and a culture. IT cut across various components (Operating System, Lean for All, Policy Deployment, Leader Led Standard Work).
- The Lean for All initiative, driven through the APMT Global Ops Academy, is a strategic initiative at the heart of the terminal (WACT). Linking into the Operating System (O/S) and the core of each terminal’s daily work and challenges, the training takes place onsite and is comprises both theory but also extensive hands-on, practical application of lean tools.
- At the core of Lean for All is a commitment to investing time and resources in developing our people, leveraging all the brains in the game and encouraging employees to work smarter, not harder.
- By continuously making small improvements in daily activities in the frontline we will achieve enhanced performance and benefit our company as well as our people, both personally and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Roll out of Lean for All in the local terminal, oversee all CI activities, All training (mainly LFA and supported by various elements owners for OS trainings), creating excitement for the unique Lean skills and tools, producing future trainers from the frontline.
- Act as a local change agent to drive change everywhere, driving cultural change across the entire organization.
- Be part of the global Academy network – supporting Academy projects and his fellow Academy Partners (WoW ambassadors, OS elements owners and others…), creating a global support network.
- Provide coaching to employees at all levels – coaching everyone from senior leaders to frontline workers, installing behaviour confirmations, role modelling and continuous improvement.
- Connect with frontline workforce, collaborate with WoW lead on various synergies with excellence programme, work with local HR on personal development, and gain an influential position with local SMT.
- Work with and coach local management teams to ensure the programs are relevant and successful.
- Understand, practice and commit to change culture and mindset with specific focus on the frontline workforce.
- Promote the 8 fundamental lean tools and driving a Problem-Solving mindset.
- Be a role model for Lean For All (maintaining work area with exemplary 5S, actively using visual management and problem solving methodology etc) …
While lean experience is certainly preferable, to be a successful WoW partner, it is just as important to:
- Quickly become well respected throughout the organization and regarded as a “someone people would like to learn from, listen to and work with”.
- Have strong relationship building skills, at all levels, especially with frontline staff.
- Be adaptable to constant change and unstructured/flexible working team environment.
- Be a strong and empathetic leader, facilitator and communicator.
- Be independent and strong in controlling the flow and pace in a classroom.
- Present content in a concise and simple way that students can understand, answers questions in the same manner.
- Value-adding nonverbal behaviours such as smiles, nods, uses gestures, makes eye contact, and doesn’t speak in a monotone.
- Ability to use examples, explanations, and exercises that make the course content relevant to students’ careers and personal goals.
- Ability to be compassionate, helpful, sincere, friendly, and sensitive to employee needs.
- Be self-motivated and always strive for excellence and exceeding expectations.
- Responsible for delivering the Lean For All Program locally, trough to the original spirit of the program.
- Work closely together with important local stakeholders.
- Ability to earn an influential position within the inner circle of the MD and senior staff. Proficient in demonstrating the Academy’s value to the tactical and strategic goals of the terminal.
- Ability to interject the Lean for All program as a key component of the local labour strategy.
Who We Are Looking for
- Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt preferably).
- Having spent between 3 – 5 years at a similar role.
- Ability to respect confidentiality clauses and act with discretion.
- Have initiative mindset, be a good self-starter and proactive.
- Have a good level of verbal and written communication in English.
- Have a good level of verbal communication in local Nigeria dialects.
- Be receptive to feedback and driven to constantly personal grow and improvement.
- Be self-motivated and always strive for excellence and exceeding expectations.
- Terminal experience is an advantage.
